Social Housing Pilot

DCM Social Housing Pilot 2025-2027
Background
We believe all those that are aging in the county have the right to access housing with supports. We have partnered with 3 agencies – HSE, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council and Changing Lives DLR to bring about a social housing with supports model for the elderly.
The Partners
DCM – Leaders in supported independent living who have had this model in place for over 70 years. Recent initiatives in our housing services have seen the benefit of enhanced support and community engagement driving ongoing independence for residents to age in place and age well.
DLRCC – Facilitating 3 sites to be involved ‘namely Beaufort Housing and Glasthule Buildings in Glasthule and Rochestown House in Rochestown.
HSE – To advise and support from the outset on identifying the issues for this cohort of elderly clients in the county and how best to support them; to work with DCM to ensure that value can be added and workstreams made more efficient and effective. Ultimately, if developed correctly, the model should support aging in place and reduce hospital and nursing home admissions for this cohort.
Support Partners
Changing Lives – The Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Community Fund: is a recently developed philanthropic initiative for the county. They have identified this project as part of their Changing Lives priority initiatives and are passionate about supporting the concept of ‘ageing well in place’.
